Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK, but the good news is that early detection saves lives.
✅ Women aged 50-71 are invited for free NHS breast screening (mammograms) every 3 years.
✅ If you notice any changes to your breasts, it’s important to speak to your GP, even if you’ve recently had a screening.
✅ Remember to stay breast aware: know what’s normal for you.
🔍 Signs to look out for:
• A lump or swelling in the breast or armpit.
• Changes in size, shape, or skin texture (dimpling, rash, redness).
• Nipple changes (inversion, discharge, or change in position).
• Ongoing pain in one breast or armpit.
You’ll be invited for breast screening every 3 years, and your GP strongly encourages you to attend.
