Request a repeat prescription
You can request a repeat prescription by either:
- Using your NHS account or NHS App.
- Completing our Online Consultation Service form.
- Calling the surgery on 01782 831101 and choosing option 1 for our prescription line, which is available Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm (Please note this line closes at 1pm on Thursdays).
- Request a repeat prescription online.
Your prescription will be ready for collection 48 hours later.
We like to ensure that patients with ongoing conditions are monitored regularly. If you are due for a review you may be asked to make an appointment.
You need to register to use our online repeat prescription ordering service. Please speak to one of our receptionists.
Medication Queries
Any medication queries must be taken up with the surgery itself. You can do this by calling the surgery on 01782 831101 and speaking to surgery staff. Alternatively, if you feel it would be better discussed in person, we welcome patients to bring medication queries to reception where you can speak to the relevant member of staff.
Nominating a pharmacy
You can nominate a pharmacy using your NHS account, NHS App or Patient Access. This allows your prescription to get sent electronically straight to the pharmacy, so it means no more collecting paper prescriptions from your GP. Your pharmacy will handle them until you change or cancel the nomination.
Local Pharmacies
You can use the NHS find a pharmacy search to find the closest pharmacies to your postcode. If you would like to change your chosen pharmacy, please call the surgery or use the NHS App to do so.
Pharmacists can suggest treatments that do not need a prescription for a range of conditions.
Most pharmacies can also offer prescription medicine for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP or make an appointment. This is called Pharmacy First.
Conditions they can offer prescription medicine for are:
- impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
- infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
- earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
- sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
- sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
- urinary tract infections (UTIs) (women aged 16 to 64 years)
- shingles (aged 18 years and over)
If you are not within these age ranges, a pharmacist can still offer advice and support decisions about self care treatment with over the counter medicines, but you may need to see a GP for treatment.
